Dear Family & Friends,

When I came home from the hospital in November I told Don I wanted to write the next entry on the blog, and as you can see I am much slower getting the job done.  I am so deeply grateful to each one of you for your prayers, gifts, visits, and encouraging words. Without the support of friends and family this whole process would have been much more difficult.  God has used each of you to encourage me and speed my recovery.  Since coming home I  have gained a surprising amount of strength.  Daily looking at the progress it seems slow, but when I look back and compare I see great strides.  I am walking without the walker completely, and I am now driving around San Clemente and on the familiar freeway treck to Valencia, church, and the mall.  I am walking daily and now doing some up and down hill stints.  My goal is to build muscle.  On Feb. 7 it will be three months since the stem cell transplant.  The Dr. says that is when we begin a maintenance program.  We will address the compromised bone issue and the  control of the multiple myeloma cells.  Prayer requests are for my back to be stronger and without pain and for the neuropathy in my feet to continue to gradually go away. (Sometimes it takes about a year)  Something that I have been blown away by is the dedication by three different people who have raised money for cancer research in my name;  John Dindinger from Muscatine, IA  who did a walk for cancer research, Dionne Petzold, who dedicated her whole season with TEAM in training to me with a goal of raising $3,000 for cancer research,  and Re Grams, who also trained with TEAM, did a marathon in January and raised almost $3,000 for research!  Thank you to these three.  I am humbled and honored!

Thanks be to God and love to you all!

Ginny

  1. Luke 4:40
“When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.”

He laid His hands on you, Ginny.

What joy I feel at this moment to be reading a note from you. Just look at you, girl, driving all over the place. How wonderful to hear your good news. God has been good to you!!! Of course my prayers will continue and I’m sure with time your back will strengthen and the neuropathy will subside. Foot neuropathy can sometimes take months. I can attest to that, but finally it did go away after about 4 months. Orthotics in my shoes helped me. I hope I can see you in April when in CA. I’ll call you then. The 3 people you mentioned are angels aren’t they? Ginny, throughout this almost year you have inspired so many to pray and realize the power that prayer holds. Thank you for that. God bless you and your family and I know you will continue to gain strength in mind, body and spirit. With love, Rose

  2. So great to see that you wrote this most recent entry yourself! In looking back over the last year you have made such great strides and we are so glad you are doing well. We have followed your ups and downs, and prayed for strength and healing, and our prayers have been heard and answered. You are a very lucky woman to be surrounded by so many caring people in your church and community…you mentioned the 3 angels but it sounds like you are surrounded by a whole host of angels! You remain in our thoughts and prayers as you continue on this journey of healing.

  3. Hi Ginny,

Whoa! Are you stylin’ or what!!!! Driving, no Walker, Writing. It is all such good news! I praise God for what He is doing in your life! I praise God for the healing, the doctors’ wisdom and skill, the wonderful friends who have been there with and for you, Your supportive/and loving family! Our God is an awesome God! I still add you to our prayer chain every week. They will be so encouraged to hear some of the results of their prayers! “My heart sings for you and your family. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!”
You gave us specific things to pray for and we will lift them up to our Heavenly Father.

    Blessings, Diana Cranny
